These terms apply to opendesignmd.com (the "site") and the DESIGN.md files, screenshots and data on it. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. What the site is
OpenDesignMD is a free library of DESIGN.md files: Markdown guides that describe how public websites look, made to give AI coding agents a visual direction. Each guide is an independent description. It isn't an official design system, and OpenDesignMD isn't affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the companies whose sites are shown.
2. Using the guides
The guides are provided under the MIT License. You can copy, change and use them, including in commercial work, as long as you keep the copyright and license notice that each file links to. The full text is on thelicenses page.
3. Other companies' brands
Site names, logos, trademarks, product designs and screenshots shown here belong to their owners. They are shown to identify and illustrate the sites each guide describes. The MIT License covers the guides' text, not anyone's brand. When you use a guide:
- use it as a direction for your own product, not to copy another company's logo, name or identity;
- don't make anything that could be mistaken for, or passed off as, another company's product;
- check font licenses, since a guide naming a typeface doesn't give you the right to use it; and
- remember that you're responsible for making sure your use is lawful.
4. Fair use of the site
You can read, copy and download as many guides as you like, by hand or with tools. Please don't:
- send automated or fake likes, or try to manipulate like counts;
- overload the site, get around its rate limits, or try to break its security; or
- use the site for anything unlawful.
Tools are welcome. The JSON index lists every design, and each design's file is at/designs/<name>/DESIGN.md. We may block traffic that harms the site for other people.
5. Accuracy
Guides describe each site as it looked when it was captured. Sites change, so a guide or screenshot can be out of date, incomplete or wrong. Colors, fonts and measurements come from the guides and aren't independently verified.
6. No warranty
The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the site will always be available or free of errors.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, OpenDesignMD and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or the guides. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
8. Removal requests
If you own a site or trademark shown here and want something corrected or removed, seetakedown requests. We take these seriously and act on valid requests.
9. Privacy
The privacy policy explains the little information the site handles.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms. We may also change or stop any part of the site at any time.
